Poor Service

Very disappointing experience on the 2nd time around. After chasing me to get me Fire Risk Assessment booked in because the previous one was about to expire, ( or more than one occasion unnecessarily). They then tried to charge me for things that are not needed on a risk assessment and i had to be firm with them as i work in property so knew they were just touting for business. I have today received the certificate nearly 3 months after the report was carried out. This was very disappointing especially as i had to continually chase the report . I would not recommend i had a client with a block of 16 flats i could of referred but obviously didn't.

Where’s the refund?

We booked an appointment and paid on 20th Jan. The engineer didn’t turn up and nobody notified us about the issue. The staff agreed to refund us but after 2 months we still haven’t received the refund. Never received any response from them 1 month ago.

What Are Gas Safety Records and Why Are They Important?

Gas Safety Records, commonly referred to as Gas Safety Certificates, are crucial documents that serve as proof that the gas appliances in a property are safe and compliant with UK safety standards. For landlords, obtaining and maintaining these records is not just a legal obligation under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, but also a fundamental responsibility towards the safety and well-being of their tenants. An annual gas safety check must be carried out by a registered Gas Safe engineer, who will then issue the Gas Safety Record, detailing the condition of the appliances and any necessary actions.

The importance of Gas Safety Records extends beyond mere compliance with the law. They are a critical safeguard against the dangers posed by faulty gas appliances, such as gas leaks, explosions, and carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide, in particular, is a silent killer—colorless, odorless, and deadly. By ensuring that gas appliances are regularly inspected and maintained, landlords protect their tenants from these potentially fatal hazards and demonstrate their commitment to providing a safe living environment.

Additionally, maintaining up-to-date Gas Safety Records can protect landlords from legal and financial repercussions. In the event of a gas-related incident, the absence of a valid Gas Safety Certificate could result in significant fines, legal action, and even imprisonment. Moreover, landlords may find it difficult to evict tenants without providing them with a copy of the most recent Gas Safety Certificate. Therefore, keeping these records not only ensures safety but also helps avoid legal complications and maintains good landlord-tenant relations.
