Order 17880

Order 17880 I am extremely disappointed with the service. 1) The inspector did not show up for the scheduled appointment. 2) Nobody bothered to call me to inform me that the inspector would not come, and I had taken a day off from work specifically for this appointment. 3) I called customer service four times to reschedule, and every single time, I was told that someone would call me back. Unfortunately, nobody ever did. 4) They charged me for a service that was never performed, and it looks like they are having serious difficulties actually delivering what they promise. The level of unprofessionalism is absolutely shocking. I have not seen such blatant disregard and ignorance towards a customer in a very long time. I have wasted my time, money, and energy dealing with a company that clearly does not care about its customers. Avoid this service at all costs!

EICR Certificate Cost: A Guide for Landlords

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is essential for ensuring the safety and compliance of rental properties. As a landlord, staying updated on electrical safety standards isn’t just a legal obligation; it’s a commitment to tenant well-being. This blog breaks down the costs associated with obtaining an EICR certificate and why it’s worth the investment.

What Is an EICR Certificate?

An EICR is an official document provided after a thorough inspection of a property’s electrical systems. It identifies any faults, potential hazards, or non-compliance with safety standards. For landlords, obtaining this certificate is critical, as it ensures tenant safety and adherence to government regulations.

Factors Affecting EICR Costs

The cost of an EICR certificate can vary depending on several factors:

  1. Property Size: Larger properties require more time and effort to inspect, leading to higher costs.

  2. Type of Property: Residential and commercial properties have different inspection requirements.

  3. Location: Urban areas often have higher service costs compared to rural locations.

  4. Condition of Electrical Systems: Older or poorly maintained systems may require more extensive inspections.

Typical Cost Range

On average, the cost of an EICR certificate ranges between £99 and £300 for residential properties. Smaller flats may cost on the lower end of the spectrum, while larger homes or commercial properties may incur higher fees. Always ensure that you hire a qualified electrician registered with a governing body like NICEIC or NAPIT.

Why It’s Worth It

  1. Legal Compliance: Landlords are required to ensure electrical safety under current regulations. Failure to comply can result in hefty fines or legal action.

  2. Tenant Safety: An EICR identifies risks, preventing potential electrical accidents or fires.

  3. Property Value: A safe and well-maintained property is more attractive to tenants and buyers.
