Poor Service

Very disappointing experience on the 2nd time around. After chasing me to get me Fire Risk Assessment booked in because the previous one was about to expire, ( or more than one occasion unnecessarily). They then tried to charge me for things that are not needed on a risk assessment and i had to be firm with them as i work in property so knew they were just touting for business. I have today received the certificate nearly 3 months after the report was carried out. This was very disappointing especially as i had to continually chase the report . I would not recommend i had a client with a block of 16 flats i could of referred but obviously didn't.

We booked an appointment and paid on 20th Jan. The engineer didn’t turn up and nobody notified us about the issue. The staff agreed to refund us but after 2 months we still haven’t received the refund. Never received any response from them 1 month ago.

Electrical Install Certificate: Ensuring Safe New Electrical Work in London

For homeowners and landlords in London undertaking new electrical installations or significant alterations, obtaining an electrical install certificate is a crucial step in ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. This document, officially known as an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), confirms that the new electrical work has been designed, installed, and tested correctly by a qualified electrician in accordance with the UK’s national safety standards (BS 7671). Understanding the purpose and importance of an electrical install certificate in London is vital for property safety and legal adherence.

An electrical install certificate is issued by a registered electrician upon completion of new electrical installations or major alterations to an existing electrical system in a London property. This certificate serves as a formal declaration that the work meets the required safety standards. It includes essential details about the installation, such as the circuits installed or modified, the materials used, and the test results confirming their safety and functionality within your London home or rental. The electrical install certificate also identifies the electrician or electrical contractor responsible for the work, providing accountability and traceability.

Obtaining an electrical install certificate is essential in London for several key reasons. Firstly, it provides assurance that the new electrical work has been carried out to a safe standard, minimizing the risk of electrical shocks, fires, and other hazards within your London property. Secondly, it is a legal requirement under Part P of the Building Regulations for notifiable electrical work. This ensures that such work in London is performed by competent individuals and is safe for use. Furthermore, an electrical install certificate can be important for insurance purposes and when selling a property in London, as it offers documented proof of compliant and safe electrical work.

The process of getting an electrical install certificate in London involves hiring a qualified electrician registered with a government-approved scheme like NICEIC or NAPIT to carry out the new electrical work. Once the installation is complete, the electrician will conduct thorough testing of the new circuits to ensure they are safe and functioning correctly. Upon satisfactory completion and testing, the electrician will issue the electrical install certificate. As a property owner in London, it’s important to keep this certificate in a safe place as a record of the electrical work.

It’s important to differentiate between an electrical install certificate (EIC) and an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). While an electrical install certificate is for new electrical work, an EICR is a report on the condition of an existing electrical installation, recommended periodically for properties in London. For any new electrical installations or major alterations in your London property, ensure you receive an electrical install certificate from a qualified electrician. In conclusion, an electrical install certificate is a vital document that confirms the safety and compliance of new electrical work in your London property. By ensuring you receive this certificate, you are taking a crucial step in protecting your property and its occupants from electrical hazards and adhering to relevant regulations in London.
