Poor Service

Very disappointing experience on the 2nd time around. After chasing me to get me Fire Risk Assessment booked in because the previous one was about to expire, ( or more than one occasion unnecessarily). They then tried to charge me for things that are not needed on a risk assessment and i had to be firm with them as i work in property so knew they were just touting for business. I have today received the certificate nearly 3 months after the report was carried out. This was very disappointing especially as i had to continually chase the report . I would not recommend i had a client with a block of 16 flats i could of referred but obviously didn't.

Where’s the refund?

We booked an appointment and paid on 20th Jan. The engineer didn’t turn up and nobody notified us about the issue. The staff agreed to refund us but after 2 months we still haven’t received the refund. Never received any response from them 1 month ago.

Free Insulation Schemes: Reducing Energy Bills and Improving Home Comfort in London

For many London residents, the prospect of reducing energy bills while improving home comfort is highly appealing. That’s where free insulation schemes come into play. These initiatives aim to help eligible households access free or heavily subsidized insulation measures, significantly lowering energy consumption and creating warmer, more efficient homes. Understanding how these schemes work and who qualifies is crucial for Londoners looking to take advantage of these valuable opportunities.

Free insulation schemes are typically government-backed or run by energy suppliers. They aim to address fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions by improving the energy efficiency of homes. These schemes often target vulnerable households, such as those on low incomes or receiving certain benefits. The measures provided can include loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, and solid wall insulation. By installing these insulation measures, residents can significantly reduce heat loss, leading to lower energy bills and a more comfortable living environment.

Eligibility for free insulation schemes in London generally depends on factors such as your EPC rating, council tax band, and whether you receive certain benefits. Schemes like the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) offer support to homes with an EPC rating of D to G and those in lower council tax bands (A-D in England, A-E in Scotland and Wales). If you receive benefits such as Pension Credit, Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance, or Universal Credit, you may also qualify for additional support. Both homeowners and private renters are eligible, but renters need to obtain permission from their landlords.

The process of accessing free insulation schemes usually involves several steps. Firstly, you’ll need to check your eligibility and find a reputable provider. You can do this by contacting your energy supplier or local council, as they often participate in these schemes. Alternatively, you can search for government-backed insulation schemes online. Secondly, you’ll need to arrange a home assessment. A qualified assessor will visit your property to determine the most suitable insulation measures. Finally, the insulation will be installed by certified professionals, ensuring it meets the required standards. These schemes are designed to be as hassle-free as possible, making it easy for eligible households to benefit.

Taking advantage of free insulation schemes not only reduces energy bills but also contributes to a more sustainable environment. By reducing energy consumption, households can lower their carbon footprint and help combat climate change. In London, where many properties are older and less energy-efficient, these schemes can make a significant difference. Staying informed about available schemes and eligibility criteria is crucial for London residents looking to improve their home’s energy efficiency.

To find out more about available schemes and your eligibility, check with your energy provider or local council. You can also learn more about how your EPC rating impacts your eligibility by visiting Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) information.
