Gas Cert Your Guide to Gas Safety Compliance

If you’re a landlord in the UK, you’ve probably heard of a gas cert. But what exactly is it, and why is it so important? A gas cert, or landlord gas safety certificate, is a legal requirement for any property with gas appliances.

This certificate proves that your gas appliances have been inspected by a Gas Safe registered engineer and are safe to use. The inspection covers boilers, cookers, fires, and flues. Once completed, you’ll receive your gas cert, which is valid for 12 months.

You must provide a copy of this certificate to your tenants within 28 days of the inspection. Failure to do so can result in fines or even imprisonment.
