Poor Service

Very disappointing experience on the 2nd time around. After chasing me to get me Fire Risk Assessment booked in because the previous one was about to expire, ( or more than one occasion unnecessarily). They then tried to charge me for things that are not needed on a risk assessment and i had to be firm with them as i work in property so knew they were just touting for business. I have today received the certificate nearly 3 months after the report was carried out. This was very disappointing especially as i had to continually chase the report . I would not recommend i had a client with a block of 16 flats i could of referred but obviously didn't.

Where’s the refund?

We booked an appointment and paid on 20th Jan. The engineer didn’t turn up and nobody notified us about the issue. The staff agreed to refund us but after 2 months we still haven’t received the refund. Never received any response from them 1 month ago.

Home Insulation Grant: Government Support for London Landlords

For landlords in London, accessing government grants for home insulation is a strategic way to enhance property value, reduce energy bills, and meet regulatory standards. These grants, often part of government-backed initiatives, are designed to improve energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions. Understanding these grants and how to access them is essential for responsible property management.

The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is a key program that offers funding for various insulation measures, including cavity wall, loft, and solid wall insulation. This scheme empowers landlords to improve the energy performance of their properties, making them more appealing to tenants while also lowering heating costs. By utilizing these grants, landlords can improve their property’s Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating and adhere to energy efficiency regulations.

Eligibility for home insulation grant through government schemes like GBIS typically depends on factors such as the property’s EPC rating and the circumstances of the tenants. Properties with lower EPC ratings (typically D to G) may qualify, particularly if tenants are receiving certain benefits. Landlords can apply for these grants to potentially cover the entire cost of the insulation, making it a financially attractive upgrade.

The application process involves determining eligibility and arranging a free survey to assess the property’s suitability for insulation. Once approved, experienced installers will complete the insulation work, usually with minimal disruption. This upgrade not only reduces heat loss and energy bills but also helps prevent damp and condensation, leading to happier tenants and increased property value.
