Poor Service

Very disappointing experience on the 2nd time around. After chasing me to get me Fire Risk Assessment booked in because the previous one was about to expire, ( or more than one occasion unnecessarily). They then tried to charge me for things that are not needed on a risk assessment and i had to be firm with them as i work in property so knew they were just touting for business. I have today received the certificate nearly 3 months after the report was carried out. This was very disappointing especially as i had to continually chase the report . I would not recommend i had a client with a block of 16 flats i could of referred but obviously didn't.

Where’s the refund?

We booked an appointment and paid on 20th Jan. The engineer didn’t turn up and nobody notified us about the issue. The staff agreed to refund us but after 2 months we still haven’t received the refund. Never received any response from them 1 month ago.

How to Obtain an EPC Certificate: A Step-by-Step Guide for London Landlords

For landlords in London, obtaining an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a legal requirement when renting out or selling a property. An EPC provides an energy efficiency rating for the property, ranging from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). This guide outlines the steps to obtain an EPC certificate, ensuring compliance and attracting potential tenants.

The first step in obtaining an EPC is to find an accredited energy assessor. You can find accredited assessors through the government’s EPC register or by searching online for reputable providers. Ensure the assessor is qualified and experienced in conducting EPC assessments for rental properties. It’s advisable to get quotes from multiple assessors to compare prices and services.

Once you’ve selected an assessor, you’ll need to arrange a property assessment. The assessor will visit the property to evaluate its energy performance. This assessment includes examining various aspects, such as the property’s age, construction materials, insulation, heating systems, lighting, and ventilation. The assessor will need access to all areas of the property to conduct a thorough inspection.

After the assessment, the assessor will generate an EPC report. This report includes the energy efficiency rating, estimated energy costs, and recommendations for improving the property’s energy performance. The EPC report also breaks down the energy performance of different elements of the property, such as walls, windows, and heating systems, providing a detailed overview of its energy efficiency. The assessor will lodge the EPC on the government’s register, and you will receive a copy of the certificate.

The EPC certificate is valid for 10 years. During this period, the certificate remains valid for any sales or rental transactions. However, if significant changes are made to the property that could affect its energy performance, a new EPC may be required. Regular maintenance and improvements to energy efficiency can help maintain a good rating, which can positively impact the property’s value and appeal in London’s competitive market.

To ensure your property meets all legal requirements and appeals to potential tenants, it’s crucial to obtain a valid EPC certificate. For reliable and professional services, consider using Landlords Checks Energy Performance Certificate. They offer comprehensive EPC assessments to help landlords in London comply with regulations and enhance their property’s energy efficiency.
